  Rushaga women Hand crafted  is a sanctuary for all community members. We welcome girls and women needing assistance, including school dropouts, Batwa youths, underprivileged mothers, HIV patients, and other undeserved people. We believe that empowering African mothers is the way to go if you want a beautiful community. Our mission is to create a sustainable community through life-long skill building and empowerment of women. I grew up in a community where, for many reasons, girls have little chance to go to school. “Why?” you may ask. Some families don’t have enough money to pay for school fees and also have enough food to eat. Or perhaps an early marriage meant dropping out. In addition,  polygamy  a state where you also find more than four women married to one man also makes the women more voluntarily  This we try to bring the women together as a form of creating  a better future as we reach them income generating activities so they can be able to prov...

   Rushaga vovlunarable child foudation is located near bwindi national park the home of gorillas and it was started mainly to help the orphans and other children who are unable to meet their needs in full because of poor family planning, the scourage of HIV/AIDS and other hazards. The Batwa also known as the Twa people, are the original inhabitants of the Bwindi forest and they are believed to have stayed there for more than 100 years. In the year 1991, they were evicted from the forest to conserve it and they started living a beggar’s life just outside the forest with limited resources that they were not used to. Most of the people who live around them like the Bafumbira and Bakiga refer to them as uncivilized people due to their former wild life of hunting. The Twa are extremely marginalized and ever since they were evicted from the forest, they have never owned land and they have become squatters on land where the owners do not see any significance from them.
